4Mal presents Square Coil - Black Tube [Flash Records, Russia]

The main idea of 4Mal – Black Tube was found about one year and a half ago and within the next few months we were searching for the right combination of tech house and progressive house in order to find the desired balance between these styles. The story behind Static Noise and Black Tube started when we ocassionally listened to a number of records by Martinez, Isolee and Martin Landsky, later I purchased the limited edition six CDs issued by Poker Flat. Both Anton and me were listening to all tracks and DJ mixes featured on the CDs and vinyls, it helped us to get into tech house records and understand some hidden details inside of them. There was still something missing for us, progressive stalwarts, so we decided to produce an original track with tech house sound but putting them on a classic progressive principle. As the first result we had Static Noise which wasn’t a hit but got immediate support from the big names (Sahsa, Hernan Cattaneo, Paul van Dyk and many others). Amenta Records, a young and promising British label signed the track and made it to their catalogue opener, the start was very impressive. Right after Static Noise we did Black Tube, a darker, slightly harder and more dancefloor friendly record.
Sergey Flash, one of Russia’s most upfront progressive house DJs and also a label owner liked the track and tested it for an extended period of time on various dancefloors, after that a contract with Flash Records was signed. Three remix artists were invited, Spieltape (Alexander Malyutin from Russia, he already made himself a name in the techo and tech house scene), Nicholas Van Orton (a talented producer from Argentina, well known for his electro experiments in progressive) and Evave (Andrey Stadnichenko, a very promising young producer from Russia, he already released a few progressive and trance tunes). 4Mal – Black Tube and all remixes are available at all major online music stores on August 6th, 2007.
